Sharon Nayger

Sharon Nayger is a highly qualified professional with extensive experience in corporate governance, legal compliance, and financial services. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, obtained in 1993, and a Master of Science in Leadership and Strategy (Sloan Fellowship) from London Business School, completed in 2016. As a professional involved in business at both a strategic and transactional level, she is adept and understanding business workflows to facilitate seamless operations.

She is also certified in Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

At Transaction Capital Limited, Sharon was responsible for overseeing corporate secretarial duties, focusing on offshore expansion, acquisitions, and regulatory matters. She played a critical role in the  acquisition of businesses. A key focus area was automating business processes through technology and effective business strategy

At Investec, Sharon was involved in structuring and restructuring equity derivatives transactions and equity backed financing for major companies like MTN, Sasol Imperial and the Investec Group. Sharon held senior positions in legal and compliance at Investec, including the Head of Legal and Compliance for Trading and Derivatives and Joint Head of Investec Group Compliance (SA). In these roles, she focused on regulatory compliance, contract management, and establishing group compliance policies1.

At the South African Reserve Bank, Sharon was responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with the Banks Act. She also served as Company Secretary to the steering committee for amending the Banks Act, 1991.

Sharon's career demonstrates a strong background in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and financial services, with particular expertise in equity derivatives structuring and business processes.
